On 31 January 2026, Activate Green attended the AIESEC in the University of Nairobi event as a partner organization. Beyond sponsorship, we were there to engage, connect, and introduce students to practical pathways for climate action.

As Community Outreach Coordinator, I had the opportunity to present Activate Green’s work

and interact directly with attendees throughout the session.

The presentation began with an introduction to who we are, a youth-led civic organization

established in 2019, built on the idea that young people should not only participate in climate conversations but lead them. We walked the audience through our journey so far, highlighting key milestones.

We shared how our Paper and Plastic Drive has collected and recycled over 1,000kg of waste

since 2023, diverting materials from landfills and channeling proceeds into conservation efforts. We introduced the Green Path Webinar Series, launched in January 2025, which has

already impacted over 200 youth through conversations around climate action, resilience, and co-creation.

The audience was particularly interested in our International Representatives Program, now

active across 10 countries, and our newly launched Ambassadorial Program in Bristol, United Kingdom. Questions centered around leadership development, mentorship, and how students could qualify for these opportunities.

To make the session interactive, we facilitated a short climate awareness quiz featuring true-

or-false questions. This sparked immediate participation. Students responded enthusiastically, and the quiz opened space for discussion about ecological footprints and everyday environmental choices.

After the formal presentation, we spent time engaging students one-on-one. Several

expressed interest in joining as Activity Cleaners and volunteers, asking about time

commitments, responsibilities, and upcoming activities. Contacts were shared, and follow-up

Conversations were initiated for potential onboarding.

Beyond recruitment, the event strengthened our relationship with AIESEC at the University

of Nairobi. The collaboration demonstrated shared values around youth leadership,

community engagement, and sustainable development.

What stood out most was the audience's genuine curiosity. Students weren’t just listening, they were thinking critically about how they could contribute. The event reinforced the

importance of meeting young people where they are and providing structured, meaningful

opportunities to act.

Engagements like this continue to shape Activate Green’s outreach strategy within the university ecosystems not just raising awareness but building a pipeline of informed and motivated climate leaders.
